20th Century Fox and Marvel Comics Present: X-Men Days of Future Past (Spoiler Free)

Mini Review Spoiler Free

When I heard of this film coming out it was just after I had finally seen "The Wolverine" that directly lead up to this film. To be honest I really wasn't all that excited because this makes X-Men:7 all but one of the films centering pretty much around Wolverine (X-Men: Origins) My only thought was how will they mess up the continuity this time? Because... X-Men... However for my Birthday I did "Treat" myself to this film simply because of a little teaser at the end of "Amazing Spider-Man 2" (Which was Amazing) So with hope that this film would land somewhere between Amazing Spider-Man 2 and The Wolverine I went in with pretty low expectations because for as much as I do enjoy the X-Men franchise I absolutely HATE when sequels don't follow continuity. So with that being said I'll give you my first impressions (Spoiler Free) of X-Men: Days of Future Past.

The first thing I want to say is I was puzzled by the title "Days of Future Past", it's never a good sign when your title makes no sense at all. I was quickly reminded of "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" It just seems like there are words missing in the title. And after watching the film, the title is understandable but I feel like there is something better they could have come up with that actually made sense. The concept of the film, which we all know from the trailers has to do with time travel, or does it? That's a question I will leave with you to figure out when you see the film! Muwahaha.

Firstly, I want to say that this film is like all the others and the main protagonist is Wolverine. No spoiler there, however Hugh Jackman is great as always. I have to say I enjoyed this film probably more than any of the previous X-Men films. However the plot while exciting seems like it's just kinda there, we dont understand why or how other than it just is. Because... X-Men

However, all typical X-Men continuity errors aside this film does it's best to try to bring everything together and make up for all the (Cuz X-Men: Continuity Errors) But, unfortunately.. It too is not without its own continuity errors. So all in all this was, in my opinion and first impressions a good not great film, but quite possibly the best X-Men film to date and while this is X-Men 7 the after credits scene, and yes there is one, clearly shows that this is not the end. So expect X-Men 8 in a few years.

First Impressions Rating:
Fun film, give it a chance
4 out a 5
 (Just barely a 4)
